Symptom
If you install the Launchpad App as an administrator and switch to another user, Automatic upgrade or server update will not work. Also, auto-login will be affected.
Information
For automatic Launchpad upgrades to work correctly, the local Mac user must either be a macOS local admin or the GroundControl Launchpad.app must be installed in a directory the local user has full file permissions over.
Also, the Launchpad will not auto-launch upon reboot.
Remediation
From the Admin page, Console Admins can enable (or disable) automatic upgrades for registered Launchpads. As a default, your organization will have automatic upgrades enabled, keeping all of your Launchpads up-to-date as releases are made available.
When this setting is enabled, even offline Launchpads will be upgraded automatically to the latest version of Mobile Access Management software after they’re connected and running.
Keep in mind the first time the automatic Launchpad upgrades is enabled, any connected Launchpads will be immediately upgraded. And while Imprivata strongly encourages keeping your Launchpads up to date, you have the option to disable automatic upgrades anytime.
